Ending the Story || Dialogue

Outer: Why do I keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again?

Inner: When you don’t finish a story in your life, the patterns within you never dissolve.

Outer: But my life always keeps changing, people come and go, I’m focusing on new projects, and I have new interests. How come I’m not finishing the stories and moving on?

Inner: When we are pure like children, it is easy to learn. When you can’t learn, it means you are ruled by habits that need to be broken apart. These habits form because of traumas, toxic relationship dynamics, or simply our desires that got out of control. Each habit is created by a story you need to find and finish.

Outer: So how do I finish a story once I detect what the problem is?

Inner: Take all you can get from it. Read it until the end, and until you read it completely, don’t put it down for too long. Roads of excess lead to the palace of wisdom. There is no way around it. You have to fully immerse in whatever chapter is in front of you. When we are not focused we keep re-reading the same page over and over again, without gaining anything. Simplify the content in your mind as much as possible, write it down in bullet points, or talk it out with your friends to reach the very essence. At its core, every story is simple to read.

Outer: So how do I know if I have truly finished a story?

Inner: You will feel a sense of liberation. But most importantly, no matter what, deep down you will never want to pick that same book ever again.

Outer: I feel like I have finished some stories that started only yesterday, but certain old connections and moments from the past are still calling me back.

Inner: Then go into them, feel them completely. However, tread carefully because re-opening a chapter might hurt other people.

Outer: How can I seek closure and ensure I don’t hurt others?

Inner: Sometimes you have to wait for them to pick up that same book again as well. Until then, remain patient and don’t drop the book from your sight for too long.

Outer: But if I keep all of these stories I haven’t finished, all of these issues with others that are still unresolved, and all these habits I have formed on my mind at all times, how can I be happy and enjoy life?

Inner: You have to accept them as part of yourself.
